Have you ever realised how advantaged the sighted are? Vision is 'granted' and not 'earned'.
How is a visually challenged responsible for being deprived of this greatest experience? If we realise this fact, we will all agree that reaching out to them to hold their hand and to lead them from darkness to light is only our duty, or rather our moral responsibility.
It is with this objective that Rotary Club of Cochin Global has joined hands with Society for Rehabilitation of the visually Challenged (SRVC) to setup a full-fledged Resource Centre for empowerment of visually challenged aspirants to impart training in computer skills, communication skills and mobility skills so as to make them job-ready and self sufficient.
The classes for the Fourth Batch of students is scheduled to start from Aug 2010, and the good news being - some of the students from the previous batches have been trained and successfully placed or are undertaking further specialised training classes for employment. The course is fine-tuned to uplift the students and give them the much needed boost to get on board the employment bandwagon and achieve greater success !
Course content:
1. Computer training which includes basic computer training, MS office applications like word, excel, and power point, internet and e-mail
2. Communicative English training.
