Cane Day" festivities on 15th Oct at Infopark, Kakkanad
RCG SRVC is celebrating the
“World White Cane Day” to create awareness about the use of the
White Cane amongst the Visually Challenged and providing a platform for
employers to meet trained Visually Challenged employable candidates.

The Agenda
4:30 - 5:10 p.m - White Cane Day procession : Visually challenged persons, using white canes will lead a pack of sighted who will be blind folded.
Objective - To spread awareness of the relevance of "White Cane" and how it helps the vehicular and pedestrian traffic to identify a visually challenged person so as to respond to them with care. Through this exercise, we also expect the sighted to experience blindness for a while, especially when you walk along the busy road.
5:15 - 6:15 p.m - White Cane Day Function with the objective of involving all companies at Infopark for employment opportunities
Objective - To create awareness in the Infopark campus regarding the full fledged Resource Centre located at Vismaya Building which basically trains a visually challenged job aspirant in the three skill sets required to perform effectively in any desk based job viz., "Computer Skills", "Communication Skills" & "Mobility Skills". Achievers from amongst the Visually Challenged to be introduced to inspire prospective employers and job aspirants. Potential Employers who can employ visually challenged to be present at this function
6 15 - 7 p.m - Interactive session between Potential Employers and candidates/ job aspirants
