Rotary Club of Cochin Global has a committed team who wants to think and act differently from the conventional way of implementing short-term programmes mostly limited to the term of the office bearers. In order to put into use the expertise and outreach of Rotary Club in the social development sector and and with a view to have an ongoing welfare programme, a Trust namely ROTARY CLUB OF COCHIN GLOBAL-SRVC FOUNDATION has been formed inorder to manage and develop the Resource Centre to train educated youth and to play a catalytic role in finding the right employment for candidates who successfully complete the various training programmes Society For Rehabilitation Of The Visually Challenged (SRVC) which is a registered NGO formed in 2002, has conducted several awareness drives and short term training programmes for the visually challenged in Information Technology, Personality Development, Communicative English, Leadership skills, Mobility training etc. The training programmes were intended to guide and orient the visually challenged youth to prepare themselves to take up such jobs. Since a permanent facility is required to achieve this objective, they decided to work with Rotary on this mussion. Meanwhile, SRVC will continue with their activities connected with music and arts by visually challenged persons independent of this association.
