RCG-SRVC Foundation is glad to announce that the Computer Training Centre set up together by Society for Rehabilitation of the Visually Challenged and Rotary Club of Cochin Global is continuing successfully with 60% of the students from the earlier batches getting employed at various corporates across Kochi/ Kerala State, India.

Background :

For any desk based job, the visually challenged are as capable as their sighted counterparts since they could use computers and telephone like others. Thus they could be effectively employed in customer service, telesales, data compilation, reporting etc., where their superior listening skills, undivided attention and sharp memory help them to excel in job. A brief note on the organisation is attached along too.

We have moved on with our Resource centre work and presently have the seventh batch of students undergoing the course ( this batch started in mid Feb 2012 and will go on for 8 months) - would be great to have your involvement in the same - the student package cost and address this needs to be sent to are below ( works out to roughly Rs 60000/- per student incl all expenses). The 8th batch is to start from 1st Nov' 12.

Also we have formally worked out a Sponsorship Request package ( per student cost)

Food expenses + Accommodation + Course expenses + Conveyance + local costs

Total : Rs 7500/- per month

And as the course is offered for 8 months, the total package would work out to :Rs 60000/- approx.
